Rivet 2.4.0 release

Rivet version 2.4.0 is now available. This release introduces the horizontal card variant, simplifies tabs markup, and fixes various bugs.

Horizontal card variant #

This release introduces a new horizontal variant of the card component.

This variant is intended for use as part of a feed or ticker on an informational or marketing website.

Simplified tabs markup #

This release simplifies the markup of the tabs component. The component JavaScript now automatically adds the required data and accessibility attributes if none are provided.

Additionally, this release adds two new API methods, addTab() and removeTab(), and two new custom events, rvtTabAdded and rvtTabRemoved.

Note that you do not need to update existing tabs markup in your projects—it will continue to work. However, consider replacing existing tabs markup with the simplified markup at your convenience.

This release also updates the tabs component JavaScript to add the type=button attribute to prevent submissions when tabs are used as part of a form.

Updated component icons #

This release updates SVG icons used in component CSS background-image properties to align with the latest version of the Rivet icon set.

Width utilities bug fix #

This release fixes a bug with Rivet’s width utilities that caused them to not override an element’s width in certain situations.

Screen reader-only utility fix #

This release updates the screen reader-only utility class to help prevent false color contrast warnings in certain accessibility evaluation tools.
